Former National Sports Authority (NSA) Board Chairman Kwadwo Baah Agyemang has claimed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council discussed spiritual factors as part of the challenges affecting Ghana football.
Speaking on Kessben FM/TV, Baah Agyemang alleged that the discussions included the possibility of seeking the services of a powerful spiritual practitioner to help address what some members reportedly consider a spiritual dimension to the problems facing the sport.
However, Baah Agyemang did not provide details of the alleged meeting or identify any spiritual practitioner who may have been considered.
The comments come amid renewed debate over the administration and performance of Ghana football, with calls for stakeholders to examine both sporting and administrative issues.
The GFA has previously participated in prayer and religious activities in support of the Black Stars. In May 2026, the association joined national Islamic prayers ahead of the FIFA World Cup and also participated in an interdenominational thanksgiving service with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.
Baah Agyemang has also called for reforms in Ghana football, warning that the situation could worsen if significant changes are not implemented.
His latest comments have added another dimension to the ongoing discussion about the challenges confronting Ghana football, although the claim about the GFA Executive Council's alleged discussion of a spiritual intervention has not been independently confirmed.
