Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member Nana Sarfo Oduro has apologised to Ghanaians following the Black Stars’ 4–2 defeat to The Gambia.

The Black Stars surrendered a two-goal lead in the match, suffering a disappointing loss that has generated frustration among supporters.

Nana Sarfo Oduro extended the apology particularly to young Ghanaians who had placed bets on the Black Stars and were disappointed by the result.

“We plead with Ghanaian Gen Z youths (investors) whose bets got spoiled to forgive us. We will make amends,” he said in an interview with Adom FM.

His comments come amid growing discussions about the Black Stars’ recent performances and the team’s preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The GFA official has also acknowledged concerns surrounding the current state of the national team, as Ghana looks to improve its performances in upcoming matches.
