Recognition Is Meaningful, But Real Reward Is Making a Difference

Recognition is meaningful, but for one Ghanaian business leader, the greater reward lies in knowing that one’s work has made a positive difference in the lives of others.
The business leader shared the reflection after being recognised for contributions to trade, salt mining, aviation and business development at the “World-Meets-in-Ghana Executive Dinner Ball” held at Manhyia Palace.
The event was held at the invitation of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Receiving the recognition with gratitude, the business leader acknowledged that meaningful achievements are rarely created alone.
According to the statement, the recognition also reflects the support and contributions of friends, clients, business partners, communities and other stakeholders encountered throughout the journey.
“They have challenged me, trusted me, opened doors, shared business ideas, created opportunities and, in many ways, made the work possible,” the statement noted.
The business leader further used the occasion to encourage people to contribute to their communities with whatever resources they have, stressing that individuals do not need wealth, influence or a large platform before making an impact.
The message encouraged people to give their knowledge, skills, time, networks and access to others who may benefit from them.
The statement concluded with a call for people who have been waiting for the “right time” to contribute to start today, noting that the impact of an individual’s contribution may extend much further than they realise.
