Naana Jane Urges Young Women to Use Technology to Create Opportunities
Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has urged young women in Ghana to harness the power of technology to solve problems, build businesses and create opportunities for themselves and others.

She made the call at the graduation ceremony of Cohort 5 of the Heritage and Cultural Society of Africa Foundation’s (HACSA) Tech4Girls programme, which also marked the foundation’s 10th anniversary.
The Vice President encouraged the young women to see technology not only as a tool for employment but also as a platform for innovation, entrepreneurship and social impact.
She emphasised the importance of equipping young women with relevant digital skills to enable them to participate meaningfully in Ghana’s growing digital economy.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said technology can provide young women with opportunities to develop solutions to challenges within their communities while creating sustainable sources of income.
The Tech4Girls programme is designed to expose young women to technology and digital skills, helping them develop the confidence and knowledge needed to pursue opportunities in the technology sector.
The graduation of Cohort 5 therefore represented another milestone in efforts to prepare more young women for the digital future.

The occasion also provided an opportunity to celebrate HACSA’s decade of work and its contribution to youth development, education and technology.

The Vice President congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to use the knowledge and skills acquired through the programme to make a positive difference in their communities.
She urged them to remain innovative, continue learning and take advantage of technology to create opportunities not only for themselves but also for others.
