Inclusion Must Be Reflected in Everyday Practice, Not Just Policy – Mills Simmonds
Mills Simmonds, Strategic Lead at Mulan Education Centre, has called on Ghanaian workplaces and institutions to move beyond treating inclusion as a policy statement and make it part of everyday organisational practice.

According to Simmonds, having policies on inclusion is not enough if those principles are not reflected in how people are treated and supported within institutions.

“One of the biggest things Ghanaian workplaces and institutions are still getting wrong is treating inclusion as a policy statement rather than something that must be reflected in everyday practice.”

Simmonds’ comments highlight the importance of creating environments where inclusion is demonstrated through everyday decisions, interactions and institutional practices.

The remarks also contribute to the broader conversation about how organisations in Ghana can translate inclusion policies into practical measures that affect employees, students and other stakeholders.
