Armah-Kofi Buah Has Not Resigned From GoldBod — Lands Ministry Clarifies

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has clarified that Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has not resigned from the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), following reports and discussions surrounding changes in the composition of the institution’s governing board.

According to GoldBod, Armah-Kofi Buah initially served personally on the board but, in January 2026, nominated the Ministry’s Chief Director, Marcus Haligah, to represent him because of his demanding schedule and inability to attend board meetings regularly. (GBC Ghana Online)

The clarification comes amid broader discussions about the status of other officials on the GoldBod board. GoldBod also explained that Bank of Ghana Governor Dr Johnson Asiama nominated Second Deputy Governor Matilda Asante-Asiedu to represent him on the board in May 2026. (Adomonline.com)

GoldBod said such arrangements are provided for under the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140), which allows designated officials to have representatives serve on the board.

The institution has also rejected suggestions that the changes in board representation indicate a disagreement between GoldBod and the Bank of Ghana. (Pulse Ghana)
