Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Third Vice Chairman Nana Akomea has denied reports suggesting that his absence during the introduction of the party’s newly elected national executives was linked to a failed arrangement with First Vice Chairman-elect Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba.
In a Facebook post, Nana Akomea explained that although he was not present for the introduction, his absence was not connected to any disagreement or negotiation involving Kojo Bamba.
He said he left the conference grounds at about 11:30 p.m. and was caught in traffic while returning to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, arriving only a few minutes after the introductions had taken place.
Nana Akomea further stated that he was not present during the counting and tabulation of the votes and, therefore, could not have engaged in any negotiations with Kojo Bamba or anyone else.
He also thanked the more than 6,000 NPP delegates who participated in the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi and elected the new national executives.
Nana Akomea, who was elected Third Vice Chairman, expressed gratitude to the delegates and congratulated all contestants, including those who were unsuccessful, for offering themselves to serve the party.
His clarification follows reports and social media discussions surrounding the absence of some newly elected executives during their formal introduction after the conference.
